When the reality hits, traders are more likely to find that the forex trading tips they receive are much less ‘secret’ and a lot of practical and common sense advice. None of them are magic bullets. Some tips might work for one trader, but not for another. Or, worse – the trader handing down the advice is fudging or even lying about the success of a particular juicy piece of information. Even if you’re an experienced trader, it’s a good idea to put a particular untried tip through a trial by using it with a demo account. But first, back-test to verify the results over time.
Forex trading signals are often the ‘secrets’ that other traders brag about. In reality, they’re a dime a dozen – and not worth much. It is not difficult to find an entity that traders can subscribe to receive buy/sell signals on particular forex currencies. What is difficult is finding a consistently successful signal service. Demo trading is a very reliable way to test the accuracy and profitability of any service without the financial repercussions of following the trading signals with a live account.
If you can’t find a mentor to help guide you, back-testing and demo trading will be your best strategy in navigating the new world of forex trading. By educating yourself on the basics and testing the appropriate tips and tricks you find before using them with your own funds, you can become your own mentor and ensure that you don’t get taken in by the person touting the latest ‘secret’ forex trading tip.
